See the San Diego Natural History Museum in a way that you never have before! As the museum begins construction to replace the roof with a more sustainable design, enjoy half-price admission! Admission is half-price between September 15 and early November since the theater and several galleries surrounding the Atrium will be closed for safety purposes. Current exhibits include, but are not limited to: Amazement in the Basement Our newest experience offers a rare “backstage” glimpse into the Museum’s collections and research work, inviting people to marvel in the diversity of nature, think like a scientist, and peek into the brand-new, state-of-the-art Paleontology Center. Coast to Cactus in Southern California This exhibition will take you on an immersive walk through the major regions of southern California's coast, inland valleys, mountains, and deserts and celebrate the abundant variety of life found here. Fossil Mysteries From dinosaurs to megalodons, travel through millions of years of rich fossil history of southern California and Baja California. Unshelved: Cool Stuff from Storage This exhibition gives visitors a rare look into the Museum's storage areas. Different specimens offer the opportunity to revel in the natural world in all its beauty and peculiarity. Stop by one of our art tables to draw a specimen that has inspired you and hang it in the ever-changing guest gallery! Living Lab Meet more than 20 of your not-so-cuddly neighbors, from stinging scorpions to elusive nocturnal lizards.
