Description

Stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) offers a hands-on way to explore coastal waters. Originating from an ancient Hawaiian tradition, SUP became widely popular in the mid-1960s.

This activity is an excellent method to visit the Seven Sea Caves of La Jolla, a collection of seven distinct sea caves rich in marine wildlife and local history.

The La Jolla Ecological Reserve begins at the Seven Sea Caves and extends north to Scripps Pier. This protected area includes an underwater park, part of La Jolla’s submarine canyon, giant kelp forests, and rocky reefs.

The reserve is home to species such as leopard sharks, sea turtles, sea lions, dolphins, and migrating whales. With only 2% of the world's ocean water protected, La Jolla’s reserve offers rare opportunities to see wildlife undisturbed in their natural habitat.

The SUP boards provided are inflatable, lightweight, and easy to carry between the rental shop and the beach.
