Description
Drive a GPS-guided Storytelling GoCar to explore San Diego’s transformation from a military city to a modern artistic hub. Begin in historic Little Italy, once home to the Italian community, now a thriving business and arts district.
Pass by the ships in the bay that explored the New World or patrolled waters during wartime, then continue into the Gaslamp Quarter. This district, formerly a red-light area, has evolved into a key social and entertainment center.
As you leave modern neighborhoods, travel through Mission Hills, featuring houses and businesses that are 50 years old or more. Continue past Historic Fort Stockton into Presidio Park, site of the original Spanish Mission, and then into Old Town San Diego to see the area’s Spanish and American heritage from the Old West era.
This tour suits anyone interested in how San Diego’s history has shaped its present while maintaining military roots.
Operate the compact, easy-to-drive yellow Storytelling GoCar with GPS guidance. It not only navigates but also narrates stories to bring the city to life. Follow the suggested route or create your own path. Tour length may vary due to factors like traffic and your choices.
Additional rental time is charged in 15-minute increments. Tours can be customized by request when visiting the rental shop.
Pricing is per vehicle, seating two people.

Important Information
- Renters must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and a major credit card. International licenses are not required.
- GoCars do not accommodate booster seats for small children.
- A $300 security deposit will be held on your credit card until the GoCar is returned.
- All riders must sign a participant agreement at rental.
- Collision damage waiver (CDW) insurance can be purchased on the rental day.
- Pricing is per vehicle, with seating for two.
