Explore Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, one of the wildest stretches of land on the Southern California coast. Covering 2,000 acres, the reserve features a plateau with cliffs overlooking Torrey Pines State Beach and a lagoon vital to migrating seabirds. Discover a variety of wildlife and flora, including bobcats, foxes, skunks, raccoons, coyotes, rabbits, cacti, coastal chaparral, and the rare Torrey pine. During whale migration, spot several species from the cliffs, including humpback and gray whales. Hike along 8 miles of trails, visit a small museum at the top of the hill, and enjoy views of La Jolla to the south and Del Mar to the north. The Bayside Trail at Cabrillo National Monument offers breathtaking views and an immersive experience in both natural beauty and historical significance. This 2.5-mile round-trip trail provides stunning vistas of the ocean, San Diego Bay, and downtown San Diego. It is open every day from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
